Meaning of Al Qudoos

The word Qudoos is derived from Quds which means cleanliness or blessing.  

Cleanliness 

This means ALLAH is free from all sins, badness and misdeeds and He frees a person from sins, misdeeds and badness.  

Blessings 

ALLAH is the one who blesses everyone.  

Explanation of Al Qudoos  

This means that ALLAH is free from following things.  

  • Badness 
  • Imperfections  
  • Sins 
  • Partner 
  • Injustice  
  • Lies 
  • Forgetfulness  
  • Poverty  
  • Disabilities.  
  • Death 
  • Hypocrisy  
  • Accuse  

Bait-ul-Muqaddas

Bait-ul-Muqaddas is the 2nd name of Holy Pilgrim at Mecca or Khana Kaaba. It is called Bait-ul-Mukadas as well because this place frees people from their sins and badness and ALLAH blesses everyone at this Holy place. 

Rooh ul Quds

Rooh ul Quds is the title granted to Angel Izrael. ALLAH purified him and he purifies every soul when comes in contact with that soul.  

Arz ul Muqadisa

Arz ul Mukadisa is the name of mosque Aqsa. Prophet Suleman asked for three wishes from ALLAH (S.W.T). One of those wishes was to make mosque Aqsa such a mosque where everyone who offers a prayer will become free from sins.ALLAH (S.W.T) granted Him this wish and now before every Hajj at Holy Pilgrim at Mecca, two nafal should be offered at Arz ul Muqadisa 

Proof of Al Qudoos from Quran

  • And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority.” They said, “Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?” ALLAH said, “Indeed, I know that which you do not know.” Surah Al Bakarah verse 30. 
  •  He is ALLAH , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is ALLAH above whatever they associate with Him. Surah al Hashr verse 23. 
  • Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting ALLAH , the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Surah Al Jumah verse 1. 

 Invocation from this Attribute  

One can ask for ALLAH’s forgiveness through this attribute. Also this attribute is helpful in asking freedom from disability, poverty, injustice, hypocrisy, and sins.
