Al Muhaimin



Al Muhaimin is the 7th attribute of Allah. Like all the other attributes of Allah, this name has its own benefits and miracles. The word Muhaimin is used for Quran by Allah (S.W.T) as well.  The name Al Muhaimin is described below with all its aspects in order to understand it easily.

Meaning of Al Muhaimin

The word Muhaimin has different meanings which are described below.


The word Muhaimin means the protector or guardian over something else.


It also means a witness. This shows that Allah (SWT) is the witness to every little act which is taking place on this earth. These acts are open or hidden but nothing is hidden from His eyes. Nothing is missed by His eyes.

Care taker

Another meaning is care taker. This means that Allah (SWT) is the care taker of everyone and everything in this earth. He is looking after us every second of our lives. When we are in the wombs of our mothers as a seed, Allah (SWT) is the only one who takes care of us there. Allah (SWT) is taking care of necessities of our lives as well.

One who manages

Muhaimin means one who manages everything so Allah is the one who manages each and every affair of this world. We depend on Allah (SWT) for every act.


Muhaimin also means the preserver as He does not forgets a single tiny detail of anything which has happened in this world. He preserves what one has done in this world. Any good or evil deed is known by Him. No deed of one is wasted by Him.


Allah is trustworthy. One can trust Him in each and every affair of his life and In Sha ALLAH, ALLAH will never let down any one who trust Him.


Allah (S.W.T) is the observer over all of us. He watches each and every act of every one of us.


It also means that Allah (SWT) is the highest of all things.

Explanation of Al Muhaimin

This attribute is mentioned in Quran only once for Allah (SWT). Allah (SWT) is the protector, observer, care taker of us. One should connect with Allah (SWT) as if one does not connects itself with Allah (SWT) then how can Allah (SWT) protects him. Allah(SWT) through the example of Quran wants to tell us that Allah is the protector, care taker, observer, trustworthy  so the book revealed by Him is also a protector, care taker, observer and trustworthy. One should connect with Allah (SWT) through this book and the commandments mentioned in this book. Similarly, Prophet Muhammad is Muhaimin so one can fore seek protection and trust in him for living a life according to Islam. Obeying Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is also a way of attachment with Allah (SWT).

Quran as Muhaimin

The word muhaimin is used for Quran as well as it is above the other scriptures. This book is truth but all the other books are now being altered and Quran is in its original form. Quran is also a testament of Allah (SWT) being one. Quran is our protector as it provides all the laws of Allah (SWT). Quran is the observer over human beings, past nations, past scriptures etc. Quran is the high book of all the other books. Quran is the deen of Allah(SWT) in book form. It was revealed in a hadith that at the day of judgement the Quran will comes as a person and testifies the person who reads it.

And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. Surah al Maida verse 48

Prophet as Muhaimin

Quran is the religion of Allah in a book form whereas our beloved Prophet (PBUH) is the deen in a human form. So if the book of deen is Muhaimin so the person who is deen is also Muhaimin.

Message through Al Muhaimin

The word al Muhaimin shows that if a person is bestowed with any authority then don’t exploit this authority. Be nice, fair, and humble towards the people on which one has authority.

Related names

Ar Raqeeb which means aware of ones acts

Al Waqeel which means trustworthy

Al Hafiz means protector

Al Manee which means Allah (SWT) protects one from harms

Al Momin means one who grants freedom from fear

Proof of Al Muhaimin from Quran

In Surah al Hashr verse 23 it is mentioned that

He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

In this above mentioned verse the overseer is Allah (SWT) as Al Muhaimin. Besides this verse, in verse 48 of Surah al Maida this attribute is used for Quran.

Invocation through Al muhaimin

If one wants protection, generosity and countless benefits from Allah then he should recite this attribute count lessly. This name has many meanings so it gives one all the benefits which this name means.
